Thank you so much for stopping by and for taking the time to leave a comment!

Barbara, it was such a nice surprise to receive a comment from the author of the book herself. Thanks!

My brother bought me a copy of your book for Christmas and I plan to read it soon. I will post my review of it here as well.

best,
Mayra

What a thoughtful, sensitive review, Terez! What I love most about reviews on blogs is that I can say thank you to the fine minds behind the words.

I had a professional violinist read my manuscript before the final draft, wanting to capture the intimate details of the musician's relationship to her instrument. Now I wish that I had also been able to show it to you.

I'm sure I projected a great deal of my own relationship, not only to music but also to writing as a way of life and a path of salvation. I very much identified with Anna Maria.

Readers who would like to learn more about the historical Anna Maria, Vivaldi (what we know of him) and the Ospedale della Pieta--as well as to read the story of how VIVALDI'S VIRGINS came to be written--might want to visit my website:

A click on "Music of Vivaldi's Virgins" will yield a free podcast of music discussed in the novel. It makes a nice accompaniment to reading the novel.

All best wishes!
